A Life of Numbers, Stories and Heart
From violin duets on stage to guiding families through their most meaningful financial decisions, Madeline (Madi) Bayne has built her life on blending discipline, curiosity and compassion. Her story is one of resilience, creativity, and a deep desire to serve others.
Growing up in Olathe, Madi found joy in math competitions, the youth symphony, and summers at Heartland Camp. A defining memory was sharing the stage with Mark Wood from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, performing Stairway to Heaven on electric violin. That experience taught her early that collaboration, discipline, and community can turn individual effort into something extraordinary.

Her love of problem-solving led her to actuarial science, statistics and economics in college, fields where she could see both the logic and the human impact. But her true career direction emerged after the loss of her father. His financial advisor stepped in, patiently explaining investments and the responsibility of stewardship. That kindness showed Madi how advisors could bring clarity and hope to families in both joyful and difficult moments, something she now lives out with every client she serves.

Today, as a CFP® and Family Wealth Director at StoryOne, Madi helps families align wealth with what matters most. She thrives in the moments when clients realize they can give generously, build multi-generational plans, or pursue dreams they once thought impossible. Her approach is rooted in empathy; listening not only to financial facts but to the stories, hopes and fears behind them.
Outside the office, Madi’s life is full of adventure and creativity. Whether she’s baking whimsical cupcakes and cookies, traveling to places like South Africa and Japan, or exploring Kansas City with her energetic dog Buster, she brings joy and curiosity to everything she does. Travel, in particular, fuels her perspective, reminding her how connected people are across cultures and histories.
Family has always been central to Madi’s story. Her father’s influence, her graduation milestones and shared adventures with loved ones are woven into her journey. These moments of connection continue to inspire her both personally and professionally, reminding her that true legacy is built not just on what we accomplish, but on who we share life with.
Madi loves exploring Kansas City with her adventurous dog, Buster. True to his spirited personality, Buster is known for racing other dogs to the ball (often winning despite his short legs) and even making bold attempts to swim in the lake if it means chasing after a toy!
