Growing up in Topeka, Kansas, Kenny developed an early interest in computers, economics, and business. He started his academic journey at Kansas State University, earning a BS in Economics and Business. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Kansas, where he graduated with honors.
Intrigued by the world of finance, Kenny started his career at Bank of America as an Associate Client Manager and Financial Analyst. His pivotal role as a founding employee at BATS Global Markets, an operator of a licensed U.S. stock exchange, catalyzed the firm’s development into a global exchange leader, subsequently acquired by The Chicago Board Options Exchange. Kenny’s contributions were critical in developing the exchange technology, launching BATS Europe and BATS Options, and assisting in the diligence and launch of the US listings business. He also played a key role in guiding successful mergers and wrote business plans covering several asset classes, including equities, options, bonds, and foreign exchange.
His role focuses on creating the optimal platform to best serve our families and our team, given the increased reliance on technology within the family office space.
In the realm of family office management, Kenny demonstrated adept leadership as the Chief Operating Officer at AzimuthZero Family Office. His capability to operate, mentor teams was also evident in his leadership roles at Farmobile, Deem, and Analytico, where he guided these tech companies through significant business milestones, navigating complex landscapes and fostering growth.
Kenny joins StoryOne Family Office as Chief Operating Officer and Founder. His role focuses on creating the optimal platform to best serve our families and our team, given the increased reliance on technology within the family office space. In addition, Kenny will lead our technical integrations with our partners and is responsible for our critical cybersecurity function.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Kenny is deeply committed to community service and his faith. He served as Deacon and a member of the Pastors Advisory Team at Westside Family Church. His leadership also extends to his involvement with the Enterprise Center in Johnson County, where he supported early-stage, high-growth companies. Kenny’s life is further enriched by his family: wife Karen and their children Ben, Annie, and Danny. A passionate golfer, Kenny strives toward achieving the elusive “scratch” handicap. This blend of professional success, community involvement, and personal dedication underscores Kenny’s holistic approach to life, aiming to make a positive impact in every facet of his endeavors.
