Growing up in Overland Park, Kansas, Jon learned early the value of hard work, integrity and service while working alongside his parents in their family-owned HVAC business. His father ran the operations, his mother managed the books and together they modeled what it meant to serve others with honesty and care. Those formative experiences continue to shape Jon’s client-centered approach today.
Jon brings nearly two decades of legal experience to StoryOne, guiding families through estate planning, probate and trust administration, business matters and nonprofit law. Licensed in Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee, he has served clients as both a private attorney and with Berger Estate Planning & Elder Law, helping them protect assets and plan for the future with confidence. Before focusing on estate planning, Jon clerked for the 6th Circuit Court in Nashville and practiced with Kay Griffin, a business litigation firm, where he gained broad experience across trial and transactional work. This foundation allows him to see both the technical and human sides of complex legal decisions.
Jon’s transition to wealth management was a natural evolution of his legal work. As he collaborated with John and Cameron on shared clients, he saw the work went far beyond estate planning and he desired to provide a deeper level care for his clients.
At StoryOne, Jon brings both his legal expertise and his heart for service to help families navigate life’s complexity with wisdom and clarity.
Beyond his professional life, Jon has spent more than 30 years in the performing arts as an actor and singer, appearing in commercials, films, educational productions and professional musical theater. He finds creative expression to be an essential counterpart to analytical precision. Jon and his wife Michelle have three daughters and together they enjoy camping, traveling and being active in their church community. Whether he is helping a client clarify their legacy or leading worship on a Sunday morning, Jon approaches every role with compassion, curiosity and a deep desire to serve others well.
